The Architecture of Trust
In the contemporary landscape of healthcare, the pharmacy must transcend its traditional role as a mere point of transaction. At Sardar Khan Design Studio, we view these spaces as critical touchpoints of care. The design for this DHA Multan project is a deliberate exercise in minimalist discipline, where every line is calculated to foster a sense of psychological comfort and professional clarity.
Spatial Hierarchy and Flow
The spatial hierarchy is defined by a rigorous adherence to linearity. By organizing the inventory into clearly demarcated zones, we eliminate visual clutter, allowing the visitor’s eye—and path—to move unimpeded through the space. This efficiency is not merely aesthetic; it is operational, reducing the cognitive load on both the pharmacist and the patient.
The Vertical Rhythm of Fluted Panels
A central feature of this interior is the vertical rhythm established by the fluted panels. These elements serve as a tactile counterpoint to the sterile surfaces typically associated with clinical environments. The repetition of these vertical lines provides a sense of height and structural permanence, grounding the lighter glass and metal components of the shelving units.
Ambient Luminosity as a Design Tool
Lighting is treated here as a primary material. We have prioritized ambient luminosity—a soft, diffused glow that emanates from integrated LED channels and recessed coves. This avoids the harsh glares of traditional commercial lighting, instead creating an atmosphere that feels clean, high-end, and inherently safe. The light reflects off the polished floor surfaces, further enhancing the project’s ‘clean-tech’ aesthetic.
